Dark Truth Read online

  Who would have thought that this is where I’d be, where I belong, the place that I am supposed to be,with the people-- well they are more than people, they are immortal beings so angelic in their own way’s--that I am supposed to be with. I belong in the arms of an immortal half vampire man and his family. I could not ask for a better life than this. All the happieness the love, no more worrying about petty things.

  This is my life and I accept it with open arms. I am happy.

  Chapter Twelve

  Decisions

  Today is like just about any other day that we usually have. Were all just hanging around the house, enjoying no work and catching up on things. Mica has been telling me things about his life since he was turned, him and his family. Things like places they have lived and how many houses they have owned and just pretty much little things from his past.

  I love to hear their stories. Especially the one’s from their earlier day’s and since he refuses to tell me what year he was turned, I’m guessing that it was from the very early nineteen century. The way things were then. The way that people dressed, the way they talked. I think I would have liked the time back then, it seem’s to me from they’re stories that things were easier. people grew gardens to eat from and raised cows and chickens and pigs to get the meat for them to eat. People were friendly, and mabe that’s because the towns were smaller and therefore peolple could get along better.

  But besides listening to his past. Mica is having a hard time keeping his hands off of me. I don’t mind it, but I know what it can lead to and from what I’ve been told that would not be good while I am still human, mortal, for two,--that I know of-- very good reason’s.

  Right now we are in our bedroom, and have been for the last five hours or so. His hands on me so soft and gentle. His perfect lips on mine and down my neck, the words that he keeps whispering in my ear, when his breathing is just as ragged as mine from kissing me, my heart skipping beats then getting right back on track again. This is what has been going on the whole time.

  It’s a little embaressing though with his whole family right downstairs. I’m sure they can hear every sound that is comming from this room. Even if they are outside I wouldn’t dought that they could still hear with they’re sensitive hearing and all that. I seriously think that he is trying to convince me to let him turn me, trying to show me what it could be like if I let him. And honestly I’m starting to consider it, but I still have some doughts. So he’ll just have to keep trying and try harder if he really wants me to change my entire life, change the way that I will have to live forever and eternity. It don’t sound that bad as long as I am with him, but still like I said their are things that make me dought. Like missing my mom and cousin and things like that.

  “Mica don’t you think that we should leave this room and go downstairs with everyone else? I’m not sure if we are going to be able to stop something from happening if we both are to worked up and ready. Plus I feel like we are being rude, keeping ourselves locked in our room all day.”

  “I think I can control myself.” He said smiling, while hovering over top of me. “Plus I kind of like what we are doing. Don’t you?” He chuckled lightly.

  “I do, believe me, I do, but mabe we should go conversate for a while. We have been up here for a very long time, and well I think we need to go eat something. I’m getting hungary.”

  “We can eat in bed.” He replied.

  “Mica.” I said starring into his eye’s and grabbing his hand. “C’mon, let’s go downstairs.”

  He sighed , but followed me, with his hand still in mine.

  “Look who finally decided to grace us with their presence!” Vincent said laughing.

  “Shut up, Vincent.” Mica said playfully to his brother and at the same time smacked the back of his head and laughed. Then he pulled me into the kitchen so that we could get something to eat. I think that I ate to much for one person.

  “Hey Raven?” Liza said comming into the kitchen with a slight smile. I know that she must have heard us upstairs or she wouldn’t be looking at me like that.

  “What’s up Liza?” I asked.

  “Me and Angelic are going out to get something to wear for the premire of Dark Love. We know you havn’t gotten your’s yet and we want to know if you want to come with us?”

  I looked at Mica. “Think you can survive without me for a while?” I asked him smiling.

  Liza glared at him. I guess he felt her glarring and looked back at her. “Sure, go ahead. We have all the time in the world to be alone.” He smiled back at me.

  I laughed to myself at his expression. I could tell he didn’t care if I went, but he just want’s me to be within his grasp. He’s trying to make up for all the times he had to spend working away from me, and plus now that I know his secret he’s much more......,--What’s the word--- enthusiastic, that’s it, and is wanting to constantly try and convince me to let him turn me, so that we can be equal.

  “Mica, you so have issues.” Liza said and rolled her eye’s at him and walked out of the room. “Were leaving Raven.” She yelled over her shoulder at me.

  “I’ll be back soon.” I told Mica assuring him.

  “I know, have fun and get something beautiful.” But before I could turn to leave he wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed me, their was so much desire in the kiss that I thought that I might faint from it. My head was swimming with dizzyness. But he broke away and smiled at me.

  “See you in a little bit.” I said as I followed behind Liza out the door and into the car, then we left. I didn’t need my guards since I was with Ang. and Liza. They could handle Lavon by theirselves with all their supernatural strength.

  We arrived at one of the dress stores that they liked to shop at. I didn’t come here unless an occasion. I don’t mind dresses, but I would rather where dressy clothes than dresses, but oh well.

  I started looking at dresses, trying to find something beautiful, as Mica had said, and something that I wouldn’t mind wearing for a few hours or more. It didn’t take Liza or Angelic long to find something that they liked, to wear to the premire. So they started to help me find something.

  “What about this one?” Liza said holding up a dress for us to see.

  “I don’t know Liza.” Ang said holding her pointy finger at her chin in thought. “I think that Mica is more of a black or silver dress person. You know for Raven to wear. He said she looks beautiful in those two colors. Plus he likes the fact that those colors match his eye’s.” She snickered a laugh. I just rolled my eye’s at that one.

  “Here try this one on, I think it’s perfect.” Angelic said handing me the dress that she picked out. And of course it was silver and black. I went into the dressing room and tried it on.

  The dress was backless, the dress was held up by two semi-wide straps that fit perfectly around the bottom part of my neck. Their were small silver shimmering swirl designs all through the dress, but you could still see most of the black, it was perfectly coordinated. It had a slit up to my mid-thigh on one side. It really did look great on me. If it wasn’t for that I might have turned it down, but I walked out to show them what it looked like. I twirled for them and smiled brightly.

  “Very beautiful.” Liza liked it. She was smiling.

  “You are seriously made to wear clothes like this and Mica is right you look way more than beautiful in this dress. You are going to out shine all the women at the premier, except for us of course.” Angelic said joking and smiling at me.

  “Thanks you guy’s really.” I said and turned back to the dressing room to go change back into my clothes, so I could pay for the dress.

  Once we payed for our things including the shoes that we seen on our way to pay for our stuff, we left the store and in honest truth I was happy and did have a good time just been out, just us girls.

  While we were approac
hing our car, we seen Lavon and four other guy’s leaning against it. Lavon was smiling deviously.

  “Hey their beautiful.” Lavon said starting to walk toward me. “I told you that I would see you around.”

  I looked at him closely now. He looked different somehow, not normal. His eye’s were black as coal like his pupil’s were so enlarged that you couldn’t see the color of his eye’s. His friends looked the same. They and Lavon had pale skin. It made me confused. I just stood there looking puzzled at his change, plus it didn’t help that It was hard for me to look away from his eye’s like some unseen force was holding my eye’s to look into his. I shuttered.

  “It’s funny. I never see you with your so called man. I’m starting to think he’s imaginary. Or mabe he just don’t want to be seen with you. Like I told you before you left me. I’m sure you are just to ordinary for him!” Lavon said sarcastically while his friend’s laughed standing behind him.

  Angelic leaned to whisper in my ear. “We can take them Raven, but their are to many people around, we could expose ourselves.”

  I nodded in understanding. I hoped that Charles would have seen this and sent my guards or Mica to help us well me. I’m the only one who can get hurt out of the whole situation.

  “What’s wrong Raven, baby? Don’t feel like telling me to get lost today. I know that you want me back, you just don’t know how to tell your little friends. You don’t want to hurt their feeling’s.” He was standing directly in front of me now. He raised his hand to stroke his finger’s down my cheek. His skin was cold where his finger’s touched my skin.

  Liza smacked his hand away. “She does not want you. She is with our brother now. My brother treats her better than you have ever thought about doing. Your the one bringing four other guy’s around and trying to intimidate her.” She said angry and a little loud, standing up for me. Cause in truth I was more or less frozen where I was, unable to look away from his eye’s still.

  “Stay out of this.” Lavon said furious at her while glarring at her. At that point I was able to look away. I was relieved. “This is between me and Raven.” He continued.

  “This is our buisness, when you are trying to hurt her. She is our family now, so just back off Lavon. You will never have her again, and I am sure of that, especially now!” She spit the words at him and starred at him with enough fury that he should have burst into flames.

  She really brought out the fury that was inside of him now. “She is not your family, she is my family and she will be like me soon!” He said through his teeth and at the same time grabbed my wrist to pull me to him. It hurt. He squeezed to tight. This hold he had on my wrist was definately going to leave a purple bluish bruise.

  “Let her go!” It was Mica and my guards. The look he gave Lavon was enough to make him let go of my wrist. Mica pulled me behind him. “I think that you and your new friends should get lost before I do something bad to you. Here in public it would expose us all. That would not be good for any of us.” He said with alot of hostility. Then he whispered, “I know how to kill you. It would only take me a split second to rip your head from your body or stake you right though your heart!” He glared at Lavon.

  “I can see that you are well informed about me, but all the same I’ll see her again. C’mon guy’s, we’ll leave them be for now.” He said to his friends. Then they all turned and walked away from us to they’re car that was parked across the street.

  I was still behind Mica’s back. I wasn’t really scared, but I was seriously confused of what was going on. My mind couldn’t think strait.

  “Angelic you and Liza Go onto the house with Raven’s guards. I’ll take her home in my car.” Mica said to them both with concern expressed all over his face.

  “We’ll see you there Raven.” Ang said to me as her and Liza got in they’re car and then left.

  Mica lead me to where his car was parked a block away. He didn’t say a word until we were at the house parked in the driveway, but he starred at me the whole way there. His eye’s searching my face, my expression like he was waiting for some reaction from me, from what just happened. But I didn’t react.

  Once we were in the driveway, he pulled me to him and wrapped his arms around me and kissed the top of my head. “I promise he won’t get to you. No matter what he is now.”

  I looked at him. “What do you mean, what he is now?” I asked still confused.

  “I know you had to see the difference in him Raven.”

  “Yes. I noticed his eye’s and his skin, but ....” I was lost for words. My face became pained a little. Mica seen it.

  “He is a day walker now. He is a solid vampire except he can be out in the day. I told you before that their are different breeds of vampire and his breed is called daywalker. I am sorry. It must be hard for you, even though you don’t care for him like that anymore.”

  “Yes. It is not right for him to be taken from his life that way. I don’t see him making that choice. It had to be done involuntary. I don’t love or want him anymore, but still I wouldn’t wish that on him, it doesn’t seem right.”

  Mica sighed. “Raven I love you. With what has happened today Raven, it will not be safe for you to go out alone. I also want to stay at the condo tonight. As far as I know he doesn’t know about it. I will protect you, and also your guards. He will not get you. He will not make you like him. Raven this might sound a little crazy, but you are mine. I will never give you up!” He starred into my eye’s with his and kissed me fiercely and did not let up. I had to stop the kiss just so that I could breath.

  I’m not scared of Lavon for some reason. Mabe because he still acted like himself, and I lived with him when he was like that, so it was nothing new to me. I wondered though if we would still be going to the premier with everything that has happened. Another thought had come to me. I wondered who he was killing to feed himself. I shuttered. People were dying just so he could live or whatever. It did infuriate me, but for only a second. I don’t believe that this was his choice, but it still didn’t seem fair to the people who had to die to keep him alive.

  We walked into the house. Everyone seemed relaxed when we walked throught the door. “Your things are packed already to leave in the morning for the condo Mica.” Charles said to his son. “But we do need to discuss somethings. Angelic told me who was there with Lavon. Zarious has been around for a long time now and he knows alot about us. He could be the biggest problem now.” Charles said with his forhead creased. I could see that he was worried about this Zarious character, but I couldn’t understand why.

  “Who is Zarious?” I asked. “And how does he know you guy’s?”

  Angelic was the one to answer me. “Zarious is the leader of this particular group of daywalkers. He doesn’t like our kind. Meaning us the one’s that no one seems to know exactly what we are. We go back a long time with him. He has been trying to figure out how to ruin us without exposing them and all of the other’s of the supernatural world. He thinks that we were bread to be whatever it is that we are exactly. He doesn’t think that we should exsist. Which in truth I think that he is jealous that we fit in better in the human world than his kind does.”

  “Oh.” Was all I was able to come up with. It seems that their is still alot for me to learn about this new world that Mica is wanting me to join. I asked another question that wasn’t really about Zarious. “So is it true, that Lavon wants to turn me into what he is? Do you think that he could actually accomplish that?” I asked.

  “I felt what he want’s from you. It is true, and from what I felt he wants to turn you pretty bad! Their is some things that you need to know about daywalker’s.” She paused looking at Mica.

  He continued where she left off. “Raven he wants you to be like him, so that you will not have a choice, but to be with him. Do you remember when I told you about us, that you would not be able to go back that once you were with
me you would be mine and I would be yours no matter what?”

  “Yes I remember.”

  “Well if he was able to get you to drink from his blood then bite you, well you would not have the choice that you have now. You would be his. You would have a desire for him a bond for him that could never be broken. I could never be with you.” He starred at me waiting on my responce.

  I wasn’t really sure what to say to that. I don’t believe that anything could make me want or desire Lavon. My love is to strong for Mica for that to happen, reguardless what happened. It did make me think though. Mica wants me forever and I want him forever. Mica would never force me into this life, but Lavon would he won’t care about it and I don’t want him at all. So why am I being so difficult about being like Mica when I love him so much. I shouldn’t be afraid to be like him so I can be with him. This is my life now. I need to live it the way it should be. I need to stop worrying about everyone else, I know it won’t be fair to them, my mom and my cousin. But they are living they’re life and It won’t be fair to me if I can’t be with the one I love because I don’t want to hurt them even if they are my family and I love them.

  “Mica I understand. I want you and not him. I love everyone of you so much. I will seriously consider my only option that I can live with.” Mica hugged me to his chest and Whispered, “I can’t live without you. I love you so much. I don’t want to loose you to him ar anything else. Please Rave, for me!”

  “I will think it through. I don’t want to loose you either, but I really need to think for tonight let all of this sink in. Please it is alot at one time.” I looked into his eye’s. He smiled and nodded.
