Dark Truth Read online

  “I think you had a gorgeous smile on your face. You did really great for a first timer. I wonder if they will make you my new girlfriend?” He laughed. Little does he know the affect he is having on my heart and breathing with his words.

  “Most likely, they will.” Vincent said comming up behind us. “You did purposely pull her closer to you when they asked their question.” He laughed and then walked over to where Liza was.

  I smiled in response. It really wouldn’t bother me if that is what they wrote, but i’m not going to tell Mica that. I might seem desperate, but I’m sure that, that was his intention to make them think that I am his girlfriend. I just hope the reason behind his intention wasn’t to get more publicity. I need to stop being so self conscience and enjoy the time I have.

  Inside, the party was going in full force. The music was very loud , you couldn’t even hear yourself think. It was kinda dark in here, with differrent color lights flashing around the humungous room. Their were booths in every corner and up against walls. A dance floor right in the middle of everything, and a big bar on the side. You could tell that in order to get into this place, you either have to be famous or be with someone that was.

  Me and Mica went to the back booth in the back of the huge room, where the rest of his family were.

  “Would you like something to drink Raven?” Charles asked me as he was going to the bar to get some drinks brought out to our booth.

  “Could I just have a soda please? “I said trying not to look to out of place, cause in truth I’m not used to this.

  “Sure. I’ll be right back.” Charles siad walking from the table.

  “Liza must have noticed my expression. “Don’t worry Raven. By the end of the week, you will be used to our way of life. Especially since......” She trailed off when she seen how Mica was looking at her, again. It seemed a little weird to me. But she smiled friendly at me.

  “Here you are Raven. “Charles said handing me my soda.

  “Thanks Charles.”

  “No problem. If you need something just ask. One of us will get it.”

  “Oh. Okay, thanks again.” I said. Then I took a drink of my soda, I’m hoping it will help me calm down a little and loosen up.

  A few minutes later Mica asked.. “Raven, would you like to dance?”

  I about strangled my self on the soda that I was drinking. The thought of his hands around my waist through a whole song and holding me close to him, I mean very close, I’m liable to stop breathing and pass out. But if I want to try and have any type of chance with him I’ll have to push my fear away and hold myself together.

  “Mabe later. “I said. “I may need to get my nerve up to go out their. “I said motioning my hand to the dance floor.

  “Okay.” He chuckled. “But just so you know, their is nothing to be nervous about. I won’t let nothing embaressing happen to you. You’ll be fine. You’ll be with me.” He smiled that perfect smile and stared at me with those mezmorizing eyes. Their was no way to say no to him now.

  “Fine. Let’s go.” I said still sounding a little nervous.

  He just laughed silently at my tone of voice.

  On the dance floor, he pulled me close to him so that he could wrap his long muscular arms around my waist. And I wrapped mine around his neck the best I could. He is alot taller than me. Another slow song started to play.

  “So tell me something Raven? You said that you were not used to going out places. Why? “

  “Well honestly Mica. I had a boyfriend. He didn’t like me going anywhere, or doing anything for that matter, not even when he went some where. He wanted to keep me locked up in the house. “

  “Are you afraid of him?” He asked kinda bluntly and it took me by surprise a little. “Are you still with him now? “ he asked before I could answer the first.

  “For your first question. Well not of him to much, but of what he will do to me when I go back home to Maine. For your second question, no. When I left to come here, I left him. He just doesn’t know it yet, but I just can’t take the way he treats me. I guess that means I’ll be staying with my mom until I find an apartment for myself.

  He stared at me seriously while he spoke. “You know what Raven?” He asked me.

  “No what? “I asked.

  “I hate to see you leave New York.” He now held my eyes in his with him mezmorizing me again. “I like you Raven you really are a very sweet and kind person. I’d like to spend more time with you.”

  “I hate to leave at the end of the week too, but I have my family back home and I can’t just up and leave them like that.”

  “I do understand that you know. I actually live here with my family in the outskirts of the city. We have a house there. I just stay at the condo when it is more convienient for me.”

  “I know that and their isn’t anything wrong with that. It’s nice that you and your family is so close, you just don’t see that anymore.”

  It was silent for a minute, while he gazed into my eyes smiling. I love his eyes, they are very beautiful and I love the color. His eyes are a silver color. Come to think about it his whole family has silver eyes. I wonder if they are contacts? A new slow song started to play, when he spoke to me.

  “Raven, their is something that I want to do.” He kept starring into my eyes. I had a strong feeling that I knew what it was, what he wanted to do. “May I? “He asked.

  I hesitated. “Umm, sure.” I answered him.

  He moved his hands on either side of my face and leaned down to kiss me with his perfect cool pale red full lips. It was so gentle, but yet so full of desire. I could feel my heart skipping beats and my head got all hot. It was better than any kiss he gave me in my fantacy’s and dreams.

  “Thank you for that.” He said quietly.

  “Your welcome.” I said just as low and sorda breathless.

  The rest of the night, when I would look into his eyes it seemed as if they shined brighter. Brighter then the stars in the sky.

  The night went by pretty quickly after our first real kiss. I got along with the rest of his family great. They seem like they are all wonderful people, I feel like I really got to know them tonight. But finally it was time to go. I needed the sleep though, even if I wasn’t ready for the night to end.

  Mica walked me up to my room when we got to the hotel.

  “I’ll see you guy’s tomorrow right? “I asked.

  “Of course. Your here for a week right?”

  “Yes, thats what the letter said.”

  He smiled. “Then I’ll see you in the morning. Oh, and Raven. I had a great time tonight.”

  “Me too. Thanks for that, and I’ll see you in the morning.”

  “Sleep good.”

  “I will. “I said back to him. Now I’m the one who can’t stop smiling.

  He returned it. Then cautiously bent down to kiss me once quickly on the lips.

  “Goodnight Raven.”

  “Goodnight Mica.” I replied.

  Then we smiled briefly at each other and then I turned around to shut the door and locked it behind me. I went and got ready for bed. As soon as I hit the mattress I was sleeping and dreaming wonderful dreams of Mica the rest of the night.

  Chapter Six

  Just Pure Jealousy

  This morning I woke up feeling wonderful and very happy. Last night was one of the best nights that I’ve had in a very long time.

  I decided to get up and give Lila a call. I dialed her number. She answered on what seemed to be the last ring.

  “Lila. Hey. I didn’t wake you up did I?”

  “No you didn’t wake me, I was just watching a movie. But anyway, tell me, how was your first day in New York?” Her voice was singing with excitement as she waited for my answer.

  “It was wonderful, no it was more t
han that.” I sang with excitement myself. “Mica was very very sweet.”

  “Wait.” she iterrupted me. “Who is Mica?”

  “Oh. Sorry, thats just a nickname for him you could say. Just don’t tell anyone else.” Their was no way that I was going to tell her that, that was his true name.

  “Okay. I won’t say a word.”

  “So like I was saying. He was very sweet to me. He had a spectacular dress in my room for me to wear, had people to come do my hair and makeup. Then he picked me up outside the hotel in a grand limo. It was wonderful.”

  “Are you serious? He really did all of that?”

  “Of course he did, I wouldn’t make it up.” I said irritated at my favorite cousin. “But thats not all. We went back to his condo where he had already made dinner for me. And he is a great cook.”

  “Are you saying that he cooked for you, and you were in his condo?” She asked gasping like she was gonna faint.

  “Yes, I was. It’s a very nice and wonderful place.” I said. “Everything that he owns their is so magnificant. Which he is a celebrity, so I guess that I should have suspected that much.” I sighed in thought for a brief second before continuing.

  “But anyways! After we ate he gave me a tour of his beautiful place. Then we went to go talk in the livingroom. Then he decided we had to get dressed for the party, which he also bought me clothes for that too! Anyways we waited on the others to arrive, so we could leave. I was surprised to find out when they got there that they were actually family in real life, not just in the movie.”

  “Your right, he really was sweet to you. And the family thing you don’t see that to much. A family that works together. Thats nice. “

  “But wait Lila. theirs more!”

  “But what else is their?” She asked. Almost in shock it sounded like. I could just imagine her eye’s glowing a brighter blue than they already were. My cousin was also a golden blonde. We look much alike. She is slightly taller than me and we are both slim, but not to slim where were all bones or anything. I think that we are the right size.

  “Well we all finally left for the party. I danced with Mica. The way he held me as we danced. Their just isn’t words to say how that felt, but then he -- he kissed me. “

  “Mica kissed you? No way? Is he a good kisser? Wait how long was it?” She was just slinging questions at me.

  “Calm down Lila and I’ll tell you.”

  “Oh. Sorry. Go ahead.”

  “He is a great kisser, I loved it. I thought I was gonna pass out right there from it. And it lasted long enough to get my adrenaline going. He also kissed me once more after he walked me to my hotel room last night.”

  “Girl you are so lucky. I really hope for your sake that the luck lasts forever.”

  “I know me too. But hey I need to get in the shower and get dressed, cause he will be here later.”

  “Okay Rave but keep in touch.”

  “I’ll call you when I get back home okay. Promise, and I’ll even give you all of the details.”

  “Alright Raven. I’ll talk to you when you get back, but if anything happens that I might need to know, call me then.

  “Sure, Lila. I’ll do that just for you though.”I promised.

  “Bye Lila.” I said , then hung up the phone.

  I got in the shower and cleaned up. I was in the shower for a good thirty minutes before I decided to get out.

  But as soon as I got out and had on my bathrobe, their was someone knocking on my door.

  “Who is it?” I asked.

  “It’s Mica, can I come in?”

  Oh no! I’m not even dressed. But what choice do I have. I just can’t let him stand in the hallway. So I went over to open the door.

  “Hey Mica come on in.” I said. “I was just about to find something to put on.”

  “I think you look good in what your wearing.” He teased. Then walked over to give me a hug. It was cautiously. I guess to make sure it was Okay. I didn’t refuse. How could I?

  I tried to play it off. What he said about me looking good in what I was wearing. “Sure Mica. In my bath robe very nice.”

  He just laughed quietly and smiled at me. I went and found something nice to wear. After I dressed, I put on my makeup then took a brush through my wet hair and parted the front to one side and let it just hang strait, no curls today.

  I went to sit beside him at small circled table.

  “So Mica, what will we be doing today?”

  “I don’t have anything planned. What would you like to do?”

  “I’m not sure. Remember I’m not from here. But I will call for some room service for breakfast. Are you hungary?”

  “I ate before I left the house. But mabe we could just sit here and talk for a while. I enjoy talking to you. You are the kind of person I like being around.”

  “Thanks. I think you are a great person, from what I know of you. I’d like to talk and get to know you better.” I said smiling. This man in front of me, is like an angel sent from above to make my life better.

  I called down for room service. When my food was here I ate, while he turned on the t.v., we talked for a few hours then decided to go to him and his families house outside the city, to hang out their for a while.

  The drive their was kinda long but not unbareable. When we pulled up to his house, it was so beautiful. It was in a secluded area. The house was three stories and white with some light grey trimming along the edges. Their yard was as big as two football fields, if not more. This is the kind of house that I have always dreamed of living in: three stories a huge yard and all.

  When we walked inside it was even more beautiful, with high ceilings. The walls were white in some rooms and a light grey to beigeish colors in the others. The furnitue matched to the color of the rooms.

  We met his family out in the back yard. It was a pretty warm day today. His dad Charles was the first to meet us. I started thinking to myself. I’m having dejavu. The feelings that I have been having are starting to return and right now they are getting to be very strong to me. Huh. this is something to think about. Mabe some type of clue to why I’m having these feelings in the first place.

  “Hey Raven. I’m glad to see you here. Did you have a good time last night?”

  “It’s nice to see you Charles and yes I had a great time. Thank you.”

  Mica’s dad is very friendly. That must be where Mica gets all of his good behaviors from.

  “I’m glad you got here early Mica.” said Charles. “were having a dinner tonight for everyone we work with. Just a little get together outside of work.”

  Carter walked over to where we were standing at that time.It surprised me a little because he hasn’t said a whole lot around me.

  “Hey Mica.” He said. “Did you here about the get together tonight?”

  “Yes. Dad just told me. Why do you ask?” He said as he gave Carter a weird look.

  “Just wondering if you had heard yet. Thats all.

  Then he said.. “This should be interesing.” As he looked at Mica. “Oh and Raven it’s nice to see you here today.”

  “Thanks Carter. Same here.” I said looking puzzled at the little exchange between them was going on. It made me nervous.

  About that time Angelic yelled for Carter to come over to where she was. So he turned and walked over to her.

  “Hey Raven.” Said Heaven walking to us. “I’m glad to see you made it over.”

  “I’m glad to be here Heaven. Thanks. And you have a beautiful home.”

  “Thank you Raven. thats sweet of you.” She said then looked at Mica. “Well Mica why don’t you two come over and join us before we prepare for tonight.”

  “We’ll be over in just a second, I want to talk to Raven first.”

  “Okay, I’ll see
you two in a few then.”

  Her and Charles then turned and walked to where the others were sitting at outside.

  “So whats up?” I asked Mica.

  “Is this something that you want to do?” He asked.

  “It’s fine, unless theirs some reason I shouldn’t be here.” I hoped their wasn’t, but all the same something was up. I could feel it.

  “No it’s not that. It’s just that my co-star krystal, might try to cause problems. She sorda wants to be with me, but I have no interest in her at all. But if you want to stay I’ll do everything to keep any problems away okay.”

  “I think we should stay, I like being around you and your family.” I said smiling. But thinking to myself.

  This is just great. I thought to myself. I’m not even with Mica and about to have problems with other girls because he might show some iterest in me.

  Uggg! Why does it have to be this way? But I’ll play along and be nice. I really do like Mica. And I really don’t want to ruin any chance that I might have to be with him. I mean I already have to leave in four or five days and that right there is going to hurt my chances. He could have any girl he wants. I’ll just make the best of my time here and hope that hope and fate will be on my side.

  He smiled in return. “I like to be around you as well and I can say that my family likes you as well. So shall we go over to where they are?”

  “Yes, I think that we should.”

  We walked over to where his family was and sat down. I started enjoying myself right away. We all laughed and joked around and was just having a great time as if we have all knew each other for an eternity, plus they know how to make someone feel welcome and from what I can see of them they are all really sweet and kind and generous. I felt as if I belonged here. It was a nice change for me.

  I helped out with the food and the preperations for the cast get together tonight. I know how to cook and plus I enjoyed being able to help. I really do like Mica’s family.
