Dark Truth Read online

  On my way down the stairs, I started to get this feeling. Something like the one’s I would get in Maine, but it wasn’t exactly the same. It felt like the air got thicker like their was tension in the air. Weird. I thought to myself, but continued down the stairs. When I was down in the livingroom with the others, I started to sence the tension between them. Everyone was acting abnormal, for them, anyway. before they looked up to me, it looked like they were having some kind of disagreement on something.

  “Hey guy’s.” I said in a serious tone. “Whats up?”

  Mica was the first to speak. “Why do you ask love?”

  It just seemed like something was going on that’s all.”

  “No nothing is going on Raven.” Angelic said. “Were just having a little conversation.” She smiled, but it was a different smile than she usually had. I tried not to read to much into it.

  “Are you ready to go for our walk?” Mica aked me.

  Their is seriously something going on. I don’t care what they say. They are keeping something from me, I know it. I just don’t have any proof. Oh well. I’ll figure it out sooner or later, I’m sure of it.

  “Sure. Let’s go.” I said hiding my curiosity of what was going on, and smiled at him as if I didn’t suspect anything was up, but I will ask him once we are alone outside.

  He grabbed me by the waist and pulled me toward the back door. Once we were outside and walking, I asked him why everyone was acting so strange for.

  “Mica.” I said in a very serious tone. “I would like to ask you something and I would appreciate it if you would be completely honest with me, please.”

  He sighed. “I’ll be as honest as I can Raven. What is it that you want to ask me?” He sounded worried about what I was about to ask him. We stopped at the far end of the yard.

  “Well, Angelic said that their was nothing going on back at the house...., but I think something was up. I could sence the tension back there. Could you please tell me what is going on with you and everyone? If it is a problem mabe I can help!”

  “I’m being honest when I say this Raven and please don’t get mad, but..” he hesitated then sighed and continued “I really don’t think that you are ready to hear what needs to be said just yet.” He stared into my eye’s and I could see that he seen my confusion with his words to me.

  He raised one of his hands and caressed my face with tips of his fingers. He looked as if he might be worried about something.

  “What do you mean, that I am not ready to hear what needs to be said? I feel like you are keeping some secret from me, that all of you are. So are you keeping some secret?”

  “I’ve told you once before that my life is something that I will have to explain to you later, and that it is complicating to explain. Do you remember?” The expession that he had on his face gave me butterflies in my stomache, and the feelings came on strong. The same one’s I alway’s have.

  “I don’t ever remember you telling me anything like that.” I said looking at him confused.

  “Well once we are gone you will have plenty of time to think about it, to try and remember when and where that I did tell you this.” The last half of his last sentence the words were more sharp as if it was like some kind of clue or something. “If you do remember, then mabe you will be ready for me to explain everything to you.” He said in a stern voice, but with a half worried look on his face.

  I just nodded, and turned my head trying to understand what he had just said to me. We started to walk again, but we walked in silence for a long moment. Mica was the one to break the silence.

  “So, do you have anything planned while we are gone?” He asked seeming like he was trying to distract me into thinking about me and him at the moment.

  “No, nothing but lounging around the house and just waiting for you to come back home.”

  “Mabe you should try going out. I’ll leave you one of my credit cards, you can go shopping or something. Your alway’s in the house anymore. You know the premire to the new Dark love movie is going to be comming up shortly, as soon as we are done filming. Go buy yourself a nice dress or something.”

  “I don’t know Mica. I’m not sure I’m in the mood for evryone outside of are home, but I’ll think about it.”

  “If that’s what you want. I guess we can go when I get back or you can go with Angelic and Liza, whichever you perfer.”

  “We’ll see.” I said still kind of lost in thought.

  He stopped and turned to look at me. “Raven are you unhappy with me? You are starting not to seem yourself at the moment.” He asked sincere and worried that he may have upset me in some way.

  “I’m fine Mica, really. I just hate when you have to leave me for day’s at a time, but I do understand. Really that’s all it is, I promise.” I assured him, but I was really thinking about what he said to me and the way the family was acting earlier. I just don’t want him to know that. He seem’s worried enough as it is.

  “If your sure, but you can tell me anything, okay!” He said starring into my eye’s.

  We walked until we reached the tree that we sat under the night of that hideous cast party. The night that I left New York four months ago.

  We sat down under the tree and he held me in his arms and we just talked like we did that one night. Time seemed to fly by. Before we knew it we had to get back to the house. He only had thirty minutes before they had to leave.

  When we got back to the house, their was more people there than just the family waiting there for our return. I turned to look at Mica. Those feelings were starting to return again, I’m starting to wonder if I have a sixth sence about things. But I looked at Mica for an answer to who these people were.

  “Mica.” I whispered. “Who are they?” I asked still whispering and motioning my head toward the three men dressed in black uniformed suits.

  “We thought it would be best if you had a few bodyguards for when we are not here with you and when you might feel the need to go out. You will be safer if they were to go out with you.” He said looking at me with a very serious look in his eye’s. It looked so serious that it looked like it might be more to it then what he is telling me.

  “Why do I need guards if I am just staying here. What is going on?”

  “Well Raven, you are noticable now. I mean you are in the magazines with me in pictures. People know who you are. It will get crazier for you, more than it already is. So please.”

  “Fine. I guess this will be okay.” I rolled my eye’s. I know that he is just concerned for me. I guess that I can understand, I am dating the most hottest young star that their is today.

  Mica introduced me to the three guards that will be with me from now on. First he introduced me to Zeke, who was very tall and muscular with short light brown hair. Next their was Nathan. He was not as tall as Zeke, but he was just as well built muscular wise with medium length blonde hair. The last guard was Malieke, he was average height, around five five foot nine inches. He was also very muscular with long black hair that he had put back into a ponytail over his shoulders. All three of them had pale skin.

  They all seemed to be nice guy’s but at the same time they seemed like they were one’s that no one wanted to cross. They were all buisness, no conversations, their was only their job to be done. After we were introduced it was time for the family to leave.

  “Will you be alright, Raven?” Mica asked as he was getting ready to walk out the door.

  “I promise Mica, I will be okay. Now go before you miss your flight.” I said smiling at him for assurance.

  He leaned down and kissed me goodbye. He sighed then looked up into my eye’s.

  “Stop worrying. She will be fine.” Angelic told him.Then she looked at me and smiled. “We’ll see you in a few days.”

  “Okay. I’ll see you guy’s later. Oh and Angelic have fu
n.”

  “I’ll try, if they don’t work us to death in the process. Believe me.” She continued smiling and turned to walk out the door.

  “I love you Raven, and I’ll see you as soon as I get back. “Mica said to me then kissed me one quick time before he turned for the door.

  “I love you too.” I said as he was walking out. He turned his head to give me a quick smile. Then he was gone and I sighed.

  I locked the door behind him and then turned to go lounge around on the couch and just find something to watch on the tv, and of course my guards followed. I have a feeling that this is going to get annoying fast, but oh well, I guess. I kicked the thought out of my mind and watched some stupid sit-com on the television, and waiting for all these day’s to hurry and pass.

  Chapter Ten

  Lavon

  Two day’s have passed. I am hoping that Mica will be able to call me today. I havn’t heard from him or the other’s since they have been gone. I am guessing that they are all working hard.

  I havn’t done much these last couple of day’s, besides laying around watch tv. I did call my mom and then Lila yesterday. Their not really doing much. My mom has just been working and Lila has just been going out with a few friends here and there. They were both surprised to hear that I was in need of bodyguards. They told me that they missed me severely and couldn’t wait for me to come and visit them. I said that hopefully that,that could be sooner than later.

  It was nice to talk to them, but eventually I had to get off of the phone and go shower and put some clothes on. But today is another day. I’ve already showered and dressed for the day today. I’m just laying around remembering when I used to fantasize about being where I am at and what I have now. I thought about how real my fantacy’s and dreams seemed to be. I’m still not sure if they were real or not, they seemed that real to me. Like the time Mica had appeared in my room or so I thought. It was the day that I found out that I had won the trip to meet Mica and his family. I thought about how real it was and what he said to me. He said: I am here in a way, it’s something that I’ll have to explain to......- My thoughts trailed off, my eye’s were wide with shock. I could hardly catch my breath.

  Was it? It couldn’t of been, but......., this was the only time that he had said those words to me. Was he really there in my room that night, is this what he needs to explain to me? But how? Things like this just don’t exist. I argued with myself for the rest the day and the night, until I fell asleep right there on the couch.

  I woke up this morning with the phone ringing.

  I answered it as quickly as I was able, considering that I had to get up and cross to the other side of the living room for the phone was on charge.

  “Hello.” I answered, sleepily.

  “Good morning Raven.” The most wonderful voice ever, said. The one I’ve been waiting on to call me. It was Mica. Then suddenly I remembered my thoughts from yesterday and it made it hard for me to speak, but I did.

  “Good morning.” I said back to him, with my words slurred a little from where I was still half sleep, and a little nervous also.

  “Are you okay Raven?” He sounded worried.

  “I’m fine. The phone woke me up, that’s all.” I smuged the truth just a little, because I wasn’t sure myself if what I’m thinking is right or not. “Mica do you know when you will be back home? I really need to talk to you about something that crossed my thoughts yesterday.”

  “Hopefully if today goes well, we should be ahead of schedule and I might be home tomorrow.” He paused hesitantly. “Are you sure your okay love?”

  “I promise I’m fine. Just half asleep thats all, but anyway’s. I really hope to see you come home tomorrow. I have really missed you these last few days and also like I said we really do need to talk.”

  “I miss you to Raven, hopefully it will be tomorrow that I will get to see you, and we will talk when I get there. Okay?”

  “Sure thing.” I said back to him feeling slightly relieved that he has an idea--I hope,-- about what had crossed my thoughts yesterday. He acted as if he might have an idea anyway.

  “Raven I was calling to check on you and to make sure that you were okay, but I have to get back to work so if I’m not comming tomorrow, I’ll call you back later. Oh and by the way. Why don’t you go out today and buy you something new to wear. Mabe we can go out somewhere when I get back, somewhere where we can dress casual though.”

  “That sounds good.” I answered his request. “I’ll talk to you later then. I love you Mica.”

  “I love you to Raven. I’ll see you soon.” Then he hung up the phone, and I sighed as he did.

  I decided that I would take his advice and go out today. I will buy me something that I can wear for Mica incase he does come home tomorrow. Something to go out in and then something to wear for him while we are alone in the bedroom, and hope that mabe we can take our relationship a little farther than usual.

  After I was dressed for my outing today, me and of course my three guards. We got into mine and Mica’s car and left. I pulled up to this one store that Mica had brought me to before. Once inside I started looking. I went to the launderie section of the store first, so I’m glad the guards gave me some space, as much as they were aloud anyway. After about fourty five minutes, I found something perfect for me to wear in the bedroom for Mica, and then after an hour or a hour and a half I finally found an outfit that I really liked and that was also casual, like he had said. Now that I was done with my shopping I went to the counter and pulled out the credit card that Mica had left for me and paid for my things.

  Once me and my guards were in the car, I asked if they were hungary. “Zeke, Nathan, Malieke, are you guy’s hungary?”

  “I assure you that we are fine Ms. Mitchell.” Zeke replied.

  I shrugged. “Then I guess that we will be on our way back home then.” I said to them. I wasn’t really in the mood to eat out alone today, so I guess I’ll just fix me something when we get back to the house. But then I decided that I would take a nice drive, I was also in no hurry to go home and lounge around being miserable until Mica was back home.

  I thought as I drove. Thinking about what I had remembered yesterday. I’m starting to think that my fantacy was truely real indeed. It would explain the tension atmosphere with my family the day that they left for work and how it was seeming like here and there that they were keeping some secret from me. I decided that whatever it is; they’re secret, I will be fine. I believe that no matter what it could be that I could not love them any less, besides they have been nothing but nice to me since the day that they met me. I really do care for them and love them, they are my new family, hopefully forever. I smiled at that thought and decided that after I looked at the clock and my drive around has took longer than expected that mabe it was time to go back home. Especially since I am more at peace with whatever they’re secret may be.

  I was well at ease when I pulled into the driveway until I seen something that seriously shocked me. I seen Vincent and Angelic in front of the house. It looked as if they were arguing with someone there. That wasn’t the shocking part. The part that shocked me was when I realized who they were arguing with. It was Lavon.

  “How on earth did he find me” I mumbled under my breath to myself.

  I got out of the car and shut my door, and sure enough so were my guards. My words must have alerted them that this person was not good and probably the fact, that I’m sure they could see Angelic and Vincent arguing with him.

  As I walked toward where they were at in front of the house, Zeke, Nathan and Malieke were very close behind me walking.

  “Lavon!” I said loudly and very harshly. “What are you doing here?” I was standing only a foot away from him now.

  “Raven, you are comming back with me right now!” He exlaimed with his eye’s filled with rage.

 
“No I’m not!” I answered with rage in my voice. Then I turned to look at Angelic and vincent. “Where is Mica?” I asked them.

  “He is still at work with the rest. We finished early, so we came on to the house.” Vincent told me. It was weird, I didn’t see the least little bit of nervousness or fear from either one of them. Most people would at least be nervous from this outcome, especially a star that has some crazy man knowing where they live and was capable of doing something insane.

  “After we arrived here and was getting our things put away, that is when he knocked on the door and starting threating us if we didn’t let him see you. I tried to tell him Raven, that you do not want to see him any more, he was getting ready to try and force his way through the door, but that is when you pulled up.” Angelic finished explaing to me. I should have been feeling fear from all the amount of rage that was comming from Lavon, but I didn’t. I felt confident to face him. One mainly because I had my guards right behind me, and second because I feel oddly safe just seeing that Angelic and Vincent were here with me. It was like some kind of peace was radiating from them and like it spread to me in that moment.

  I Looked to Lavon then. “She’s right Lavon and you are tresspassing on our property. You need to leave now.” I said in a dark serious all jokes aside tone. That’s also when my guards took there place two on either side of me and one in front of me, to confirm my words and to prove to him that nothing will happen to me because I am fully protected. But for some reason they didn’t feel the need that my two loving family memebers needed to be protected.

  “So, you need bodyguards now. Doesn’t seem like a very good life if you ask me.” He said sarcastically glarring at me with a smirk on his face. “Raven I will see you out and when I do you will go back home with me. I will die before I leave New York with out you. And that is not a threat it is a promise!”

  “Leave Lavon!” I nearly shouted at him. “I don’t want you and I never will and I will never leave with you. I have found my place here with a family that treats me better and loves me more than you could ever imagine.”
